Nicovox Box

Nicovox box (system provides multi audio/radio input & intercom features)

Flying with music can add dramatically to the experience unique to Paragliding or Powered Paragliding. Having communications adds safety and camaraderie. Having sidetone let's the pilot know that he's speaking at the correct volume, not shouting, and that the mic and system is working correctly. Having all of these things together is what the Nicovox allows. It does so in a small, easy to fly with package
(1" x 2" x 3").

The music is silenced when a radio transmission is made or received and the music fades back in afterwards. To help the pilot know his microphone is working, sidetone (hearing your own transmission in your ears) is provided. Many pilots report this feature alone is worth the price.
In the standard configuration it will directly interface most FRS and HAM radios using the standard two-plug configuration and most radio-capable helmets or headsets.
It also works with Yaesu single-plug radios such as the VX-5 (requires Yaesu's adapter, part number CT-44).

The Nicovox includes a 9V battery.

Specially configured units are also available, as are PTT switches and other system-integration services.

Sperwill has developed a leisure aviation helmet, purposely designed for use in extreme volume, high bass tone -environment of open cockpit aviation, where noise attenuation is of a primary concern.

When connected to a transceiver, Sperwill IHCS will allow the user to communicate with high quality radio transmission and reception whilst providing hearing and head protection. Self-coloured thermoplastic hard shell provides good protection while providing the user with comfort from brushed nylon liner.

The integrated communication system is designed for direct connection to a transceiver without any needs for a radio module or any other electronics. The communication utilises ultra-low profile speakers and a dynamic microphone for a simple, reliable and robust system.

Two Press-To-Transmit buttons are provided; one on the left ear defender and one remote (for hand / riser / handle bar mounting) for convenience. The two ear defenders provide high noise attenuation for both high and low frequencies; up to 120dB(A); and two ear cushions on each cup provide comfort.

What you get in a package

A helmet, complete with a communication system. (Transceiver not provided.)
